Ok guys,New Boater here....I have a 1987 Bayliner.....Just bought it it has the 2.3 liter ford motor in it. I have replaced all the siloniod ,alt and ...The starter....Here is where my problem is...Motor runs great no problems But the starter is starting to stay engaged after the motor is running,This happens last weekend on the water and burnt up the 1st new starter,I bought another and put it on and started it up a couple times with the rabbit ears and it worked great then i turned it off and started it up again and it stayed engauged even after i turned the ignition switch off the motor still was running,I had to pull the silonoid wire to kill the fire then disconect the battery........I have no idea on what to do....Help!!!!! Thank you all in advance

Sounds like the ignition switch is sticking. Cheap fix to replace. :D

Well,As crazy as it is,the brand new Silionoid I put on had a crack in it and was causing the starter to hang up,$10.00 fix.....Running like a champ now,Heading to the Great Tennessee river in the morning....:D
