Bayliner 17ft Capri Cuddy 85hp o\b capacity plate

Of all the boats that I have owned, this is the first boat that doesn't have a Government plate on it with the weight load restriction. There is a faded silver tag beside the 85 hp Force (passenger side) with nothing on it. Is Bayliner that cheap to put a proper tag on their boat or are we responsible for this.
This is new to me for Bayliner. Other boats I have owned have always had a capacity plate on them. Hope some can fill me in

Back in 83 my 16ft Bayliner 1600 with Force engine had a capacity plat in the cockpit and that similar brand new 2012 model I saw a few weeks ago at the boat show had a sticker. What you have not provided is any information on the year of boat as I would think a search on the Internet or a call to your local Bayliner dealer would find your answer.

Ayuh,... Of All the boats I've had, 'n ALL the times I've been pulled over/ talked to by the Powers that be,...

I've Never, Ever once been asked about that tag...

A couple years ago, I went through the Whole Coast Guard Inspection,.....
They didn't care, at All 'bout that tag...
Just the fire extinguishers, flares, etc...
I even got the Golden Slip. aka; flash it, 'n they don't bother Reinspectin' ya...

I searched the net all over an could not find a photo of the tag of my 1988 Bayliner Capri Cuddy 85 hp, but I did find the specs here at iboats

1200 LBS PERSONS, MOTORS, GEAR

They used a vinyl sticker that was attached to the the vinyl on the center of the port side console. Although I have the bowrider version of your boat, my capacities are the same as you listed. I can try to send you a scan of my sticker if you like. It's currently stuck to the front cover of my owner's manual, courtesy of the previous owner.:facepalm:

My 1990 1700 capri is only rated for 50hp and it could really use the extra 35hp.

The size of the sticker is 2"x4".
