Bayliner 4.3 Starts the quits and won't restart.

My son took the boat out last week. It started right up and ran nice. He ran for a while, shut it down to float and when it was time to go, he started it up and it ran for a few minutes when he hit the throttle it died and would not restart. It will turn over and seems to want to catch but doesn't. I just changed the spark plugs, I also cleaned the fuel filter on the side of the Carb and put in Sea Foam marine motor treatment. Put it in the lake, it started right up and died immediately and would not restart. Any suggestions?

Sounds like fuel starvation. Check fuel delivery to the carb.

If you follow the fuel line in you can unscrew it just before the carb.
Then when you pump you should have fuel coming out of the rubber hose.

When it was running - could you tell if it was running on all cylinders?
If it just runs on one it might have the power to stay running on idle but when you hit the throttle it will die.

It could also have overheated - did you notice if it got warm?
I mean too warm to touch - not normal warm.
