Bayliner bow rider with fiberglass floor

I found a boat for sale here that is a 1986 Bayliner Bowrider with a 85hp force OB. The floor looks like someone fiber glassed it(haven't seen it in person yet. I'm finding out further details on the work done on the boat. I'm investigating trying to make sure the stringers/transom are still in good shape. Anything else I should be worried about or look for?

As a side note, I'm not really expecting the "perfect" boat on my budget, I know I'm getting myself into a project of SOME degree no matter what on my budget. This one looks pretty sounds pretty good so far and I get to pick out my own seats! lol

I am however trying to avoid ripping up a deck and replacing stringers/transom.

check every inch of the floor for softspots - if you find a softspot its likely you will need to redo the floor. On the transom do the same as this is just as much work as a floor.

Check in the back of the boat where the water comes out after you pull the boat out of the water - if there is any blackish muckish water in that are - its a sign that the floor has possible hidden rot oozing out from underneath the floor.

Its possible they did a good rebuild job - ask them alot of questions about how they did the work.

Does it come with seats? They can get expensive.

Looks like the carpet, hull liner, and vinyl was removed and replaced with glass and ply. Looks like a spatter paint paint job from spray cans.

My guess is its a very armature job, so it needs to be gone over with fine tooth comb to determine if serious problems are being masked.

Look in the ski locker and probe the stringers with a sharp object like ice pick to check for rot. Do same on inside of transom.

And don't forget to ask about those missing seats!
