Bayliner Capri - Alarm when key is turned on.

I am getting an alarm of some sort, from underneath the control console. When I turn the ignition key to "on", it's like a loud buzz/horn.

I recently removed and charged my battery. I've never heard this alarm before in the 2 years we've owned the boat. I reconnected the battery, and it's screaming at me. I'm not sure what to check, as the boat turns over.

Flipping the bilge pump on or off makes no difference either. I'm not sure what to do here, any suggestions before I take it to the repair shop?

Thanks!

Outboard or I/O?

Outboard. Yamaha. Oil level is good, checked that also.

In that case4, I think you might need to pose this question in the Yamaha outboard section. Those alarms usually indicate either overheating or low oil, or possibly either one. Start by checking for a wire that has frayed to ground under the motor cowl.

Am I correct in assuming the alarm doesn't stop when you get the motor going?
