i have a mercruiser 3.0 in my bayliner. when i first put my boat in the water and i start it , it takes a good 5 minutes to warm up or it stalls when i put it in gear.and when running the boat and i shut it down it starts dieseling. what would cause this. and when i first take off it blogs a little, then its fine. i change the spark plugs and sprayed the carb out.

I have you looked at the choke to see if it is working properly? How old is the gas?

i purchased the boat last april and was told it was given a tune up. and notice during the summer it was doing this. is the full tune up something hard to do or should i let a the professional do it. I havent taken it out on the water yet this year i just wanted to get it ready.

Though the 3.0's are all basically the same, what year is it?.....
You would do yourself a favor by familiarizing yourself with your engine & the preventative maintainence that needs to be performed, you will $ave thou$and$ over the life of your boat......;)
