bayliner cuddy question

I have sen a couple bayliner cuddy cabin boats around 86 and 87 19 and 21 foot they have a 125 hp 4cyl in them Is that enough to pull a skier out of the water that only weights 200 pounds.

That really depends on how worn out the engine is. A fresh unit with that much power should not be a problem. Also would want to look at the prop configuration, i.e. pitch, etc.

i have an '89 19' capri cuddy, with a non-original evinrude 120hp outboard (origionally a 125hp force). it can easily pull two skiers out of the water. I assume you are talking about the outboard version, they did also come in several i/o options (and later a dreaded L-Drive configuration)

I have a similar question:

What is the max speed and comfortable cruising speed for the mercruiser 3.0 in a 19' cuddy cabin.

Based on what I've seen from other boats, it seems a little under powered? I don't need to break any speed records, but I'd like to be able to cruise at 35 without maxing out the motor.

35 might just be pushing the envelope. Again, it all depends on your engine condition ( tune up, etc ) and your prop. With a strong, freshly tuned engine and the weight down you might see that speed. But, add fuel @ 8.2 ppg, extra boating friends, refreshments, etc. See where I'm going? There are really too many variables to give you even a shot in the dark - so to speak. Find your comfort range, it may take awhile, but it will happen. Safe boating.

I can cruise at 35mph on a calm lake with me and my wife onboard but I think that's pushing it a bit and it guzzles gas. 30mph seems like a good compromise and that's plenty fast.

I've got the 5.0L Cobra in my '89 cuddy with a 14 1/4X21 prop and it takes me to 51MPH@4100 RPM, I can cruise at 3kRPM at about 35MPH.

I have a 84 19 foot bayliner cuddy with the i/o 125 motor and I average around 30mph at 4500rpm with 4 people aboard.Love the boat.
