I don't even know where to start looking for this. I saw a picture of a boat for sale exactly like mine, a 1985 Bayliner Capri w/85hp motor. It had a bimini top on it that snapped onto the top of the windshield frame & only covered the cockpit. I have the mounting hardware on mine but no bracket's or top. Where would I find information on buying a new/used one. Tried ebay & craiglist, came up empty. Any ideas?

honestly, they limit headroom so much its hard to see out of the boat. well, for me anyways. i have one and i never use it. i wont sell it though, its going with the boat one day because i have all the camper canvas for it as well. I bought an aftermarket one that covers sooo much more. and they are around $200 all over the place new.

Ya, I guess the head room thing would be an issue for me as well. I'm always sitting on top of the seat back looking over the windshield when I'm driving. I'm not too sure if I like the look of those after market ones, but if that's all I can get I guess I'll have to go with it. Better than getting fried in the sun or soaked if caught in the rain. Thanks, MAXX BTW: If you ever do want to dump the stock top let me know.

The ones that attach to the windshield are called "convertible tops".

Call Leta's Top Shop in Washington State. Go to the Bayliner Owners Club and do a search for posts, which will reveal the number (or google it).

She has all of the old Bayliner canvas patterns. As long as it was offered as a stock option, she can reproduce it.

I agree with the previous posts, the stock convertible cover is so short that its pretty much useless unless you are stuck in the rain. The few times i've used mine i had to keep the zippered flap for the windshield open and stood beside the driver seat with my head stuck out of that so that I could see.

I also have the full camper enclosure and bow cover which i think has been put on once just to see what it looked like. I havent had a need to buy an aftermarket bimini cover since I rarely head out if it calls for rain and enjoy all the sun I can get while I am out there.

I've got the convertible top for mine and yeah, it's dang near impossible to drive with it on. I wish I had the camper section for the rear. I've checked letastops and they are available. Maybe after I do the resto on mine I'll give them a call.

You'll probably have to have one custom made.
