I am looking at a 1990 19 foot Bayliner Trophy boat with a center console,
120 hp Force engine. Has been sitting for the last 6 years, was running when it was put under shelter...Lady wants to sell due to her husbands death with cancer...

Boat looks to be in fair condition...

Question, Is this a good boat Bayliner Trophy and what would be a fair price if it runs?

Thanks for your help...

If it has been taken care of and all the wood is intact (no rot in deck, transom, stringers) it is a great boat.

plan on buying the package for a low enough price that you can still afford a new motor. Because the force will let you down luke.
That motor was built by a company that has been out of buisness for a number of years and they were not great motors to begin with.

Re: Bayliner Trophy Boat?

Bayliner and Force are not well-respected brands.

They are/were entry-level boats and motors.

That's the inside scoop.

Could Bayliner be good? Sure, if it's been cared for and is powered right for the right price.

I was afraid you would mention that force motor, I have not heard anyone say good things on this type of motor...:(

I don't feel like I could pay to much, according what she ask...I know the motor is most of the cost on a boat...If this motor has been sitting for 6 years that is not good not being run....

Re: Bayliner Trophy Boat?

A little Googling has shown me that a 1990 19' Trophy was still one of the years where the smaller Trophys were basically just fishing versions of the stardard Bayliner runabouts. So basically it's a mediocre boat with a mediocre motor. I wouldn't pay much more than $1500 for it and that's only if it's in particularly great shape.
