BAYLINER TROPHY Comments welcome!!!

Does the Bayliner trophy model fall under the same category when boaters comment on Bayliner's quality issues from the 80's or is it in a class of it's own? If so, what are some of the things to look for when working on/or using one?
Also, is it correct that the trophy model broke from Bayliner into it's own company? Please educate me a little as I start to get my first "big water" boat ready. Thanks guys!!!

From what I have seen.......the very first Trophy's were just Bayliner hulls outfitted for fishing. In my opinion those were pretty much crap (cuz the Bayliners of that era were also crap). However I think the later ones, which were their own designs, were better. Definitely lower end but I more comparable to other glass fishing boats made at the time. Unfortunately they usually had Force motors which I would avoid.

I'm not going to say nothing bad about those junk boats because they keep me employed.

They are regarded as low-quality boats, and low ''initial-cost-of-ownership'' boats (which actually leads to increased cost of ownership down the line).

There's a reason they are cheap up front and costly later on.

That's the reputation, and the 1980's Trophy boats were just more about fishing, but just regular ol' Bayliners.
