What are the specifics of the 2 boats? (year, motor, hours, price, condition, etc.)

I currently have a 1984 Sportcraft 22' walkaround, and although it's an old boat, it was built well. The hull is a tank. I was out last night in 3-5's, and although I did get wet, I never doubted the boat's ability to handle it and get me back.

You may or may not know, but Bayliner is an entry-level boat, but the Trophy series seems to be a bit better then a Capri or Cierra. the year of the Trophy will have a lot to do with a recommendation.

Apples for apples though, I'd go with the Sportcraft. I really like mine.

Can't comment on the boats except for like already said, the older bayliners are entry level. Neither boat is going to fit in the garage if you have a standard depth garage. The boat plus trailer make it to long for sure. Never mind that it will probably be to high also.

Forgot about the q about fitting in a garage. No, neither of them will fit in your garage.

Well this is funny this came up today. Because just yesterday I backed my 87 Sport Craft in my pole barn for the first time. My boat is a 210 Fisherman. With the trailer and outdrive almost all the way down, I measured in at 29ft! It was 8 ft. 4 inches high and my garage door on my pole barn is 9 ft high, so I just barely made it. I had all of 4 inches to spare when I backed it inside front to back... whew!!! My trailer was made for a 25 ft boat so, if you bought a 25 footer, you'll be at the same length total that I am.

I LOVE my SportCraft, Like Beefer, the hull is built like a tank. The only thing with the Sport Craft's and old Bayliners is you must watch for transom and stringer rot....make sure you check for that. Otherwise they are great rough water boats that handle waves very nicely. - Joe
