Im looking at purchasing a 1985 Bayliner Capri Cuddy, I believe it is a 19.5' with a 2.1 Volvo Penta with 125hp. Is anybody familiar with this boat, or know of a site that has info on it? My main question is how heavy the boat is? I want to know if it will be rated enough to be able to tow behind my Jeep Wrangler. Any info would help.
Thanks

Re: Bayliner Weights?

I'd guess loaded it will be about 2500lbs. It doesn't have trailer brakes does it? 3k is the usual starting point for trailer brakes.

IMO, the boat is two large for a 2 door Wrangler, as in a TJ or YJ. Their tow limits is 2k. I have a YJ Wrangler and a 17.5ft bowrider. I have towed it once a few blocks. There is no way I would try to tow my boat on a regular basis with it.

Your boat weighs 2200#, plus trailer, batteries, fuel, water, gear. about 2700# Then add the weight of cargo and people in the tow vehicle. So you will be at 3000#
