Interesting encounter yesterday. I was driving down the road and saw an aluminum boat at a used car dealer. I recognized the boat as a Valco which is really a west coast boat.
I stopped in later to get a closer look (and I am friends with that dealer) and the boat was brand new on a trailer.... never had an outboard mounted.
I asked where did he get the Valco? Well what a small world... the car dealer is friends with the two owners of the manufacturing company. They shut their doors and stated the industry had tanked but, they figured it would be for 2-3 years for them.
I was interested since I had only seen these boats on paper and got a chance to give it a look over. I understand it was a repo from a dealer that had it on a lot but never paid for it.
My friend had no idea what the boat was but only knew it was new with a MSO.
It is going to be a great deal for someone if they are willing to get an outboard. I was rather surprised it was only rated for a 60HP since it had such a wide beam and high sides.
I would have never considered seeing one of these in VT
