Bayrunner keel questions

I've aquired an older Bayrunner aluminum skiff, and in getting the bottom ready for painting I found 2 cracks in the keel. I know the boat doesn't take on water, but I'm wondering what the likely-hood of hull damage is? (The keel appears to be just a protective plate, but I could be wrong) Anyone have experience with Bayrunner Western/Open skiffs and their weakness over time? Also, the center console is in the back 3rd of the boat and I'd like to move it forward. What should I expect for expenses in new hydraulic steering and trim cables? Thanks in advance....DM

welcome aboard, for a few bucks, take it to a<br />welder who has experience with AL before they<br />get worse. should cost very little since no need<br />to worry about cosmetics and a perfect weld.
