Last spring I needed a quick short-term solution for a section of flooring that had rotted out. I used 1/2 inch construction grade plywood, 3 ply, BC, with two coats each of Rustoleum water-based primer and oil-based paint. This weekend I took the floor out to do a little remodeling & thought I would share the results.

This is a 27" by 45" section of floor with a chair pedestal, plus fuel tanks & battery resting on it. The boat is stored outside, covered. The floor gets exposed to water during use, but drainage is good.

I kept a remnant from that same piece of plywood, about 21" x 48" in my garage; the remnant is starting to swell a little in places, showing signs of delamination. But the floor still looks in good shape, no distortion or soft spots anywhere.

I'm going to continue with the floor in place, and I'll report again next year.
