Beaching or setting bow anchor with closed bow boat?

Hi all -- I'm looking at a 16ft Double Eagle (Canadian made) with a deep V and closed bow. No windshield hatch to walk through to the bow.

How do people beach bow first with a closed bow? Just walk over the windshield? Is the bow tough enough for this? Also, setting the bow anchor, same issue. I've got kids so getting them over the windshield would be a chore. Beaching stern first looks like everyone gets wet which is not an option in the cold northwest here.

We'll be in the ocean so I'm hesitant about getting an open bow lake boat.

Any thoughts appreciated!

yep, boating can be a chore. sounds like you've the right idea to me.
it's (beaching) a kinda personal thing for your particular boat. try different ways and find the way that's easiest for you. my closed bow lets me go through the windshield, over the side aft. or walk the gunnels aft to the bow and step off the bow. also depends on what the wind, waves, current are doing too... i use anchors, trees, logs, stakes to tie myself up too... when i'm beaching, i usually get wet. not always, just usually...
oh, i'm a lake boater. ya say ocean. i'd think ya should watch the tides too... someone else will have to comment on that for ya though for better facts... good luck..

I mad this, you loop the anchor rope threw the eye hook ahead of time and keep the anchor with you when you need it back up i hook it with this hook i built for free in 10min.

If you plan to anchor where there's significant wave action, you should -always- anchor stern-to the beach. This way the boat will ride over the swells and prevent it from taking on water.
Oh, and it's never a good idea to beach a fiberglass boat. "Sandpaper on the hull."
If you're concerned about getting wet, haul a dinghy along to get people to the shore. It's the only other way.
