dingbat your friend did a good service after the "mariners" wouldn't take his advice. I've seen instances where the waves don't look that bad but it doesn't take much to take down the boat; the dynamics are all different in the surf than the same waves offshore. And a jam in the sand on a wave is a bad sound. Even if he'd tried to walk it in stern first, it's dangerous with that prop kicking around in the air. BTDT too.
