Bearcat 55 oil filter

I have acquired a 1967 Bearcat 55, model 460 A2E that has the by-pass instead of an oil filter. What filter will fit the motor; or shall I not change what has apparently worked well for 40 years?

Also what spark plugs work well? The original plugs in 1967 were Champion J6.

The oil filter is a Napa 4104. It's listed as a fuel filter in their books. If you do put on a filter read the manual about installation! I've had no problems with the champion plugs in mine.
