bearcat 55hp lower seal leak

Does anyone know how to replace the lower seal on a 1964 bearcat outboard motor? would be happy to get any info. thank you.

A 64 is a Homelite. Bearcat was the name for the same motor after Fisher Pierce (Boston Whaler's parent company) bought the motor from Homelite- around 1966 if I remember correctly. <br /><br />I haven't had to do that yet, but I think the prop shaft seal isn't all that difficult. I'll have to try to track down my manual. Have your parts yet? Either of the two parts dealers here in Ca. would be happy to offer advice when you buy a seal from them.

Thank you for your reply. called dealer in Redding CA. told how to change seal & is sending new seal. If you need info. on bearcat outbouards get ahold of economy 4 cyclemarine.@ www.economy 4cycle marine.com said has rebuild motors& sometimes has used motors. Again Thank you Oceans4
