Bearing Buddy

Hi, any advice on putting them on? Have a 2002 Karavan trailer. One of the silver metal caps on the hub fell off, so I thought might as well put on a bearing buddy. However, the depth of the bearing buddy seems too shallow as the grease fitting on the hub is hitting the inside of the bearing buddy. Instruction says to hit the bearing buddy with rubber hammer. Hit it pretty hard and it didn't go in. Diameter of the bearing buddy seems correct. Thanks for your idea.

What grease fitting on the hub? You should see a slotted nut with a cotter key in there. You apparantly already have a grease fitting under the crome cap? Sounds like you already have a method to grease hub. May not need Bearing Buddies?

hi, i don't see any cotter pin. if the trailer has a grease fitting, it's allowing grease to fly out as grease is coating the tire. thanks for your advice

Thomas12,<br /><br />My last rig had a Karavan trailer underneath it. The trailer had "sure lube" axles. In essence, these axle spindles are hollow and allow grease injected into the fitting in the cap to lube the front and rear bearings-"Bearing Busddie" not needed.

If you go the Buddy Bearing route forget the rubber mallet. Get a stout piece of scrap wood and put it on the outer rim of the Buddy. Tap a few times to get it started with a hammer then pound it in.
