Bearing cap removal

What is the best way to remove the caps on my wheel bearings. They have been on for some time and have some rust.<br />Thanks

If we are talking about the dust cap I generally use a flathead screwdriver and a "soft" mallet.......seems to work for me. Anyone else?

Ayuh,..........<br /><br />Just a Hammer,.... Knock it from Side to Side,.... It'll fall off.....

in the rental business i found the easiest way is take a big pair of channel locks, grab on to the cap and rock it out. usually just takes a couple of quick up/down jerks and it's off!
