Bearing Quality

I agree ISO may be a joke but on the other hand....imagine a company operating without ANY control documents at all. At least with ISO, your shooting for some type of consistency. Speaking of bearings, in most applications the trailers bearings are so under-loaded that any quality bearing will do. Its not the load as much as rust from lack of maintenance that does them in.

I realize we are merely talking about trailer bearings in this thread. But I have researched bearings in general and how they are built. And if you really think any bearing is okay, you have not seen the numbers of bearing available for any one application. Take a 1602 ball bearing and see how many different bearings are available for just that one size. And the price ranges from a mere dollar or less to hundreds of dollars a piece. So there are differences for any bearing and you can get sorry bearings and very good quality types for the same part number. That was all I was trying to get across. So if you want good bearings, stay with good manufacturers and you will have no issues...at least with the bearing. JMHO

AGREE! Quality has nothing to do with country of origin. Pick a reputable manufacturer, pick the correct specs and ignore where it is made.
