How in god's name can a person remove a bearing off a prop shaft? An easy way or a hard way. I amnot caring... How do I just get it off. Please and thank you for all who respond to my plea for help

But in general, you would use a bearing puller.

Re: Bearing removal???

Get a die grinder with a cutoff wheel and cut it off silly boys....if ya score the shaft a "tiny" bit length wise ,this will hurt nothing. Should take less than two minutes to do it. Cut one side only and drive a small screw driver in the cut and remove

Die grinder and cut off wheel????? Well these things I do not have and well hey I think it would be cheaper to go get a gear puller.....But hey.. would that work?

Re: Bearing removal???

and what is the difference between a gear puller and just trying to grab it with a channel locks and pulling like hades...besides I am afraid by using a gear puller might break something. Som one please tell me different
Just because it's old doesn't mean it's worn out. just increase the chances

Re: Bearing removal???

If ya have a bench vise open it enough to slip the shaft in between the jaws and pound on the end with either a piece of aluminum or copper between the hammer and end of the shaft. Might try heating the bearing only with a propane torch jus before ya pound on it.
