Please Excuse the length of this post. This is my first post to Iboats. I purchased a 1970 Glasstron V 166 Tri-hull with a 1970 chrysler 85hp from one of my best friends. I am sure you have heard that one before. This guy will do anything for you...even sell you a good boat that "just needs a starter". By the way he is Cuban so "starter" is spanish for new floor, stringers, transom, and carburator rebuild lol. I know I know i am the one who bought it so the blame is on me and he bought it from someone who bought it from someone so. He and i both have been working on the engine but did not have a clue what lied beneath the floor. Anyhow, i will be doing a complete restoration of this boat along with converting it to a center console. But here is the kicker...the previous owner before my friend and I owned it, "fixed" the floor and stringers and then layed plywoood and indoor/outdoor carpet on top to give it a great finish. Check out the stringer and foam job below. Yes that is a branch that was shaved to make a flat surface for the plywood to lay on. The last pic is the hardware store where he got his stringers. LMAO
By the way i will continue to post the progress that is made along with pics and some video. Special thanks in advance to my friend Denny(the guy i bought the boat from) for the help with fiberglassing and painting.
