Hi..1994 Merc 225. I had it out for the first time this year and it would sound off 4 beeps(about 2 seconds each) and then nothing for about 2 minutes and then sound off 4 more. Kept doing this for an hour or two, every couple of minutes. Everything looks normal. Any ideas?

Re: Beeping Alarm

Have you checked you oil resevoir on the engine for full?? This buzzer is for the low oil, map sensor, temp sensor, barometric pressure, air temp and tps switch. Is this an efi? If not it will not include all of these. Only the oil and temperature.Always check your oil if this buzzer continues to sound. You could have a oil pressure line to you resevoir tank loose or stopped up. Good luck!!!

Re: Beeping Alarm

thanks for your reply...tanks are full...it's a carb engine. It's weird because the intervals in between the 4 beeps seem to be exactly the same period of time(ex around 2 minutes)

Re: Beeping Alarm

That definitely sounds like a low oil warning.

The engine may not be getting sufficient oil or the sensor that monitors the oil resevoir is malfunctioning.

Ed

Just keep on running it that way, wont be long and you will know what caused it!

Sorry, just couldnt help myself, but that "IS" a warning buzzer for a reason. "WARNING, WARNING! Id premix untill I knew for sure what was setting off the alarm.

Re: Beeping Alarm

it will also self test if there is any voltage inturruptions.
carefully check the temp sensor lead wires around #1 spark plug. if they are to close the spark EMI will set off the alarm.
there were some versions of the 225 that the horn also checked the ECU but I cant remember what year it started.
