Hi There! I thought I'd post some pics.... I haven't seen anyone else with the backyard camo conversion yet. Thank you everyone for all your patience and help......now I just let the paint cure for a couple days and I'm off to the races.

P.S. How do you think it looks? I'm pretty happy with how it turned out... can't wait to take it for a spin.

yeah, looks good! How'd you do it? If you post a little bit about your technique other iboaters who want to camo their boats will be grateful I'm sure.

I take it from the duck head on the ob you're planning on some duck hunting, eh?

Thanks, yeah the sportwin is primarily for duck hunting. It'll get some action for walleye opener as well though. The camo was pretty easy. I just got four colours of ultra flat paint. Khaki, Olive Green, Brown, and Black. Base coat of Khaki, then grabbed an oak leaf, and shot some brown on it, cut out some reed type shapes from cardboard, and sprayed black, green, khaki and brown. Misted the whole thing with khaki to lighten it up a touch. I have used pine cones, cedar boughs, maple leaves&keys etc. for other stuff, but for this one I wanted it to look pretty wetlandish. It came out a little darker than I wanted, but the patterning I think is good.

THAT LOOKS GOOD!! IF MY ARM WAS LONG ENOUGH I'D PAT YOU ON THE BACK!! I DID SOMETHING SIMULAR ON A JON BOAT AND OUTBOARD. I USED THREE COLORS. FIRST I LAID DOWN A COAT OF OLIVE DRAB THEN I USED SMALL LIMBS OUT OF MY YARD TO MAKE A PATTERN SPRAYING THEM WITH KAKI AND BROWN. I CALLED IT REAL LIMB!!! YOURS LOOKS MUCH BETTER. GOOD JOB BUDDY.

Good Question about the paint holding up! I'll let you know. Has anyone seen a really flat "clearcoat" before. I'd love to cover up the camo, but I want to avoid any glare. I'm cleaning out the gas tank today.....firing her up tomorrow.
