Re: Before I add a hydrofoil would like advice...slow speed porpoise

I have had one half day off this week and we took it out again for a few hours...this time I at least got my poles in the water...but only caught dog fish...lol

I put all the extra weight up in the bow...the extra gas tank...anchor...supplies etc. and that alone made it plane out a little faster.
Not great but better.

I am just getting ready for work again but happened to run over to a garage sale that had fishing items listed in their ad....wasn't sure if Smart Tabs work or not but figured I would risk losing a few bucks and got them in case they were a good idea.
figured worse case scenario is I sell them online and lose a few bucks....didn't want to risk not buying them though since they were new in box (unopened) and the gentleman selling them swore by them.

Anyone have any experience with these the Smart Tabs? Good bad...waste or worth it?

No personal experience but plenty of reports on here. Carefully applied they can improve hole shot ability to stay on plane
and may even gain speed.Need to be ap[plied just enough to get the desired result. There are various models
to be matched to the boat size. There are also different actuators. As I understand it Smart tab site is very helpful.

Maybe two more days or so of painting remain....can't wait to be done with this so I can start fishing / boating more..ugh!

Here is me in the boom

Anyway back to the boat issue...
We took it out yesterday morning before work and I tried moving the pin to the lowest hole, it seemed to go up on plane quicker but there was a bunch of spray coming from the sides when we were WOT. It drenched my kicker motor and was even spraying me while sitting in the rear seat (wife was driving).

Does anyone know if there is a "normal" amount or look to the spray / rooster tail or whatever it's called?
I will try moving the pin back up a couple holes next time we go out but I sure don't think there was this much spray last time we were out.

I also found out that I bought the wrong size smart tabs even though the box says they are for my size boat :( A Rep at Nauticus told me to get the next size up....still not sure whether to get tabs or fin though...or neither...lol

Oh and here is a few pics of how my boat sits at the dock under current load...any feedback on this would be appreciated.
Not sure how it's "supposed" to sit but this is without two people sitting in it...not sure if that would change it either based on where the seats are.
