The remote cable (shift plate to control box) could be completely seized and it wouldn't trip the interrupt switch.. But the 'south side' of the shift plate (lower shift cable, all the shift shafts etc), yeah REALLY sensitive.

Did not mean that the remote cable would trip the interrupt switch, just that i was rather surprised when properly set up how little effort it takes to move the lower shift cable vs how much effort to shift at the helm.

at any rate we are luckily close to the launch so pulling the boat, fixed it and was back on the water in two hours.
