I have a leaking shift cable bellows. I’ve seen the videos of doing this job with the out drive attached but I’d like to replace all the bellows. I’ve replaced the water pump impeller before and have a fair mechanical ability but this job seems daunting.

Is it worth the $60 or so for a used service manual? Will it detail the procedure? Does Clymers do the trick? Is the process much different than the Gen 2 process?

If you have good tips or resources could you please share them with me?

Thanks in advance.

The factory service manual is always better than aftermarket that is unless you need to use it as a knee pad

Can find manual 6 online in pdf and Gen 1 is basically the same as Gen 2

A clymers is not worth $60 get the factory merc manual.

yes the process is slightly different as Gen 2 driveshaft bellows attach somewhat differently with the internal ring vs clamp.
