bellows replacement

I am in the process of replacing my drive and shift cable bellows and i was wondering should i use the bellows adhesive on the cable bellows, also when and how tight should the clamp in the small end of the cable be tightened and does the the cable slide thru the bellows or does the bellows extend and retract when you lift the drive for trailing 1993 merc 4.3l w/ alpha one gen 2 o/d and thanks in advace for the help

The bellows will extend and contract - so make sure you have it in such a position that it is able to do so. Yes, use adnesive on the large end of the bellows.

thanks for the reply so you say when i clamp the small end i should pull the bellows out and extend it all the way or just part
