1993 Bayliner 3.0L 4cyl 181cu Alpha 1 Gen 2.
After reading the procedures for replacing the bellows in the service manual, I tried to find a source for the Loctite 8831 and the Locquick Primer T. This is used to coat the hinge pin threads. Also the manual requires the use of 3m adhesive 92-86166Q1 to hold the water passage o-ring and the rubber gasket. Does anyone have a source for these items?
Thank you

Re: Bellows Replacement

Not sure where you got that 8831 number, here is from the Merc manual. Both the 271 and the primer you can get from NAPA or other automotive stores.

The adheisive is just to keep the oring from falling out. So anything will work. I just use bellows adhesive from Mercruiser. Check at your local dealers, your going to need it for the bellows anyway.

Re: Bellows Replacement

Same job another question.
The shop manual suggests that you might have to apply heat to the gimbal ring area near the hing pin to aid in removing the pin. What do you use for heat? Would it be a propane torch or an electric heat gun?
Thank you..

That's to Burn Out the Loc-Tite that was used before........

A Propane Torch will Work,......

Blow Dryers just Don't get Hot Enough......
