If you have any leakage, it would more than likely occur where the nose of your drive inserts into the pivot housing. Hopefully, you aren't using any sealant on that. If anything, you want a little grease in that area. Are you torquing the 6 nuts with a torque wrench in the order that is specified in the manual?

Yep, I had the same reflexion. Cleaned good the tip of the bearing carrier and greased before inserting. Torqued the nuts at recommended specs in good order. If it still leak next year I buy a trailer or a lift 😁

Well this seams to be a hot topic. I have noticed that different factory Volvo manuals say to use adhesive such as the Volvo bellows adhesive and some dont say either way. I just had the shift and ujoint bellows changed on my b3 drive I just sold and the mechanic used adhesive. I know that it is a different design but that is why I started this post as to the find differences between the 2 drives as respect to maintenance. My new boat was always docked on a lift and will live most of its live on a trailer as I take my boat home after weekends. Thanks for all the posts!

There are a few different companies that make service manuals (Seloc, etc.) but the OEM is the only one you want. It is the one I linked to you above, free of charge online. The others are pretty much junk and cause more problems than they solve.

My OEM LK Volvo Manual says to use adhesive but the next newer model BY says not to use it.

I replaced my DPS SX-A bellows last year and did not use anything but outdrive grease on the tapered nose that goes into the bellows. Took it apart this year and it was bone dry, yea!
