Recently purchased a 1961 Springbok from a friend who has owned it since new.
I love this boat and plan a semi-full restoration paint and controls-wise, including a teardown and rebuild of the 1962 Merc 250 that has been on the boat since new.
Having said that, the seating is limiting for what I want to use it for. My question is: Are the seat backs integral to the structure of the boat, or can they be removed safely? I want to install buckets with the removable risers for fishing.
Pic attached. Thanks for your help - this is a great site!
