I would say at the simulated fiberglass one are at least pleasant to look at .. :)

I hardly ever get wet in heavy wind chop ...;)

Ned, that boat for a Bermuda customer is friggin GORGEOUS!! I absolutely LOVE the sweeping lines in wood going back to the rear deck. And sphelps, I LOVE that runabout!! Those are the identical colors I am going to be painting my Traveler! I have a commercial sewing company and will be doing my own interior over this winter but for now to get this baby in the water I bought a set of white seats for now. There is just something about that small vintage fiberglass runabout lapstrake look that just makes these little boats look so sharp. I like everything about this old thing, right down to the original skinny ass steering wheel, wrap around windshield, and plain Jane dash with no gauges. Just "a boat" with a steering wheel with cable pulleys and a motor, lol. In my eyes, very cool! :)

I love the look of the lapstrake design and even in a smaller lightweight boats I think it adds not only good looks but strength and makes for a dry ride. When applied to tin boats the look is eye catching.

Well reading through and looking at the pictures of those boat builds was fun, not many doing it that way anymore, some beautiful boats on there.
