Bennet TRIM TABS STUCK DOWN??

I came in from fishing on Saturday and found that my trim tabs were all the way down and would not retract. I could tell something was wrong coming in and even looked once to see by chance if I had picked up something.
If I can't find the problem real quick, "HOW can I RETRACT" them so I can use the boat w/o the bow plowing? I normally don't use them except in rough water, so having them out of commission is not a big deal, I was using them just to level out the boat a little to please the first mate.

Thank you for the link. I have DR. appointment this morning, so will take a serious look this afternoon.

Didn't take long to fix this, just a very sticky joy stick type controller. Checked the wiring on the controller and then did a little WD-40 under the joy stick, one side started working and more fooling around and got all 4 ways working. For once it did not cost me anything.
The Bennett tab trouble shooting guide is very good and easy to follow, obviously not printed in China.

I had a similar problem (but only one stuck down--that is worse)). Mine are Lenco, but yours should be the same in this respect: you cna disconnect the bottom, turn the actuator shaft like screw and reconnect so that it is up--obviously the safer way to have it disabled. Good idea while you're on the subject and in calm water to learn about.

Bennett uses a hydraulic cylinder. You can't just screw it back into the housing like you can with a Lenco.

On the Bennett, the cylinders are spring loaded in the up position. If worst comes to worst, crack the hydraulic line to the tab and the tab will pull itself up with the spring.
