I have a problem on my 1990 Dusky 256FAC trim tabs. I just got the hydraulic motor running in both directionsand to both tabs. I had to refill the reserviour and even though the pump is running nothing is happening. I am guessing the pump needs priming. If so, how? What else could be the problem? From everything searched on these forums, all invaluable information, I haven't seen this particular topic. Thanks for any help.

Re: Bennett Trim Tabs

If you overfill it it will do nothing. If you suspect this is the case, take the res. cap off and pull tabs up all the way, this will get rid of the extra fluid.Charlie

Re: Bennett Trim Tabs

crazy charlie, the reserviour is at the level marked on the tank.<br /> I just finished rewiring the unit from the time of the previous post, using tabmanII's answer to lifestyletoys and got the port tab to working. The stbd tab will not operate unless you switch hoses and use the port pump outlet. I don't get any fluid out of the stbd port. BTW it is a Bennett unit. My guess it has something to do with either a bad stbd valve or wiring to same. As soon as I check the wire to stdb valve I will have reached the limit of my ability.
