1985 Sea Ray SRV300 Sundancer Twin 5.7L Mercruiser with Alpha Gen 1 drives.

I need to replace my actuators on the trim tabs. Can anyone recommend what type of sealant I would use, when attaching the actuator to the hull?

When mounting an anode to the tab, are you supposed to put one anode disk on the top side of tab and one on the bottom side of the tab?
Thank you

Re: Bennett Trim Tabs

I usually use some 3m 5200 in the screw holes and the disc type of zinc is best sandwiched on the trimtab.Put the allen key on tyhe bottom so the extra inch of bolt is sticking up instead of creating drag under the hull.

Instead of the Sandwich Disc type of anode,....
I used the little Acorn type used on the bottom bolt of a Merc. transom shield,.......
I mounted it on the Upright angle of the tab,......
It doubles as the attachment point for My Trim Indicators.......

You can see it all at the lower rear port-side of the tab in the picture......
