Good Morning Folks, I have been reading these forums for a a month or so, and can't get over how much I have learned. I grew up on the Chesapeak Bay and boats, grandfather and father both worked the Bay. But Dads a little upset with my brother and I. While fishing a few weeks ago and not paying enough attention to the depth sounder backed his 27' Albemarle (twin screw Volvo gas) across a shoal. Now there is a slit vibration unless on plain. Last week the diver that cleans the bottom told Dad Drive shaft was fine but port prop was dented and nicked. My question to the experts: does anyone know if these engines counter-rotate and if so are the props not different. Forgivness comes with a new prop, I just want to buy the correct one. If you guys don't know that means I have to drive to Norfolk, VA and go for a swim.

Re: Bent Prop

If you know the engine and outdrive model I would call a marine shop and ask the Service personal, most should be willing to give you the part numbers for the prop itself. Or you might be able to remove the props and have them repaired if the damage is not to bad.

Re: Bent Prop

Scotty25, Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't thought about that, in fact Albemarle's are built here in NC. I could just call them.
