Below are pix of the #6 rod that got bent due to hydrolock. The rod is actually bent and twisted.

Anyhow, I pulled out my trusty Clymer manual and did a complete rebuild - just kidding of course!!
My local (well respected) certified Merc shop did the repair. Since it was already opened up and the rest of the boat is in great shape, I decided to have them rebuild the whole motor (all new pistons, rings, bearings, seals, complete head and valve job, etc.).
They told me for the first 20hrs or so, don't run it at one rpm for long periods, watch the guages, and look for anything unusual. It has a year warranty.
Any other suggestions??
