So that I could keep my "Idiot of the Year" title, I decided to troll for awhile with my Mercury 20 HP and recharge the trolling battery for my Minn-Kota---WITHOUT taking the trolling motor out of the water. I promptly hit a rock underwater at trolling speed---the Merc outboard bounced up and over the rock but the Minn-Kota shaft is now bent at about 20 degrees. QUESTION: Does anyone know how the shaft can be straightened, or is it a goner?????

A metal fabrication/pipe shop Might be able to straighten it, but I have some doubts...might be worth a try, just take it by a shop for them to look at it...

13. Please do not post multiple threads in multiple forums about a single problem. This is confusing to those trying to help you. Multiple threads in the same forum about the same issue is also confusing. If you want help fast, one thread in one forum is the best way to get it.
