Recently picked up a 2006 Bentley 20' cruise, with a 2004 75HP Merc 4ST, took it out for the first time last week. Maiden voyage for it's new owners went flawless. One thing concerning us is the water line on rear of pontoons being 2/3 under water, 1/3 above. This is with approximately 15 gallon of gas, two batteries, and motor aft. Should I be concerned about it setting this low in the water? I read the history posts on water in tunes and have performed the "slosh" test and do not hear water. I plan on pulling plugs in rear of logs tonight to double check the water issue.

As we have not 'tooned before, we just want to make sure I am not missing something that could put my passengers in danger, and try to understand if the rear low in water issue is a major concern.

That's where all the weight is so the boat will sit low in the back.

+1 ^^^ About normal for a 20'. A 24' might displace the weight a little better, but not much. If you don't hear any water "sloshing" around, don't worry about pulling the plugs. Enjoy the new boat. Welcome to iboats !!!

It will look lower also if your toon diameter is 23".

As a reference, my 2007 Bentley 20'er with a 90 HP 4 stroke sits like this. It has two 25" diameter logs. Back of the logs are about 1/2 way under water..

I don't know where you are planning to be at Rathbun over the weekend, but be advised that most of the ramps are closed and no docks are out yet due to the high lake level. The only ramps that are open are South Fork, but no courtesy dock, the deep water ramp at the Marina, and the deep ramp at Island View, but not at the campground and no docks, and Honey Creek State Park. There is a single dock and the fish cleaning station at Honey Creek. We will be there this weekend and next also trying to find some crappies over 8 inches long. The lake is at 916.4 and normal pool is 904 so many of the rock structures are under water and are not marked very well so be carefull. The nice thing is that water that was 2 ft deep is now 15 ft deep.
