Best 21 foot walk around cuddy?

I am in the market for a 21 foot walk around cuddy cabin boat. My wife and I are Rhode Island bay boaters and are looking for a 21 foot walk around for cruising and the occasional trek to Block Island. Looking for a nice riding hull with some reasonably comfortable seating and decent top end for cruising. We are looking to spend between 15-20k on a well kept boat. I like the look of the Proline 2020 wa and see that it has a nice deadrise for chop. Also see many other brands like Seaswirl, Aquasport, Hydrasport, Angler, Wellcraft and more. I would appreciate any owners of walk arounds sharing their experiences.

Don't rule out Pursuit. While they are a higher end brand there are many good boats on the used market in your price range.

I really like the Pursuits that have a flat fore deck...ie no narrow/deep walk way just a flat deck to walk on. The improvement in cabin space is worth the slighlty less "secure" fore deck.

Had a 1986 Pro-Line 21' WAC with a '96 Johnson 175 on the back. It was a good 'most conditions' boat for its size and I always felt safe in it. On a calm day I hit 39 mph and change on GPS (never quite made it to 40).

Honestly, all those you've listed should do well in moderately lousy conditions, so I'd look around and see which one 'grabs' me. The only specific advice would be based on my own experience with the motor mounted on a deep setback bracket (mine was 30")... the hull's too short to carry a big motor that far back. I needed to add a 4-blade, high lift prop and a set of Smart Tabs to make it behave, and it still would have been better without the bracket.

You have a decent budget and should have no trouble finding a good one. Good luck!

As long as your budget allows it, opt for the models that are built without wood transom and stringers.

The Grady White 208 and the 226\228 are the best in class when it comes to W/A.
