I've tried a lot of different batteries. Some cheap, some expensive but I keep coming back to the AC Delco Voyager. I just replaced my ?house? battery after 5 years of service.

The "best" is what does, what you need it to do, the type of charging system you use ect. Good lead acid batteries are fine if you can access them easily for watering. Gel cells are really pricey $250 for 100AH, but they charge faster and don't need watering and don't gas. They do need a smart charger with a charging cycle for that type of battery otherwise you cook the batteries. If you can access the batteries easily for maintenence and don't have any important connections going through the battery compartment, then a good lead acid battery is the way to go. AH/$.

I have a AC Delco group 27 that is 7 years old and still kicking. I`m sold on Delco batteries. You can get either an extra good or really bad battery in any brand name.

Sounds like we all agree. I think the best battery is one that is recharge very soon after use and never left discharged for any time at all.

As far as price I like Costco 3 year free replacement on auto starting and 100 month prorated warranty. I also have a very old Delco Voyager at least 8 years old and bought at Price Club, but have no trolling motor or high amp demands and I always recharge at least every 2 months summer and winter. Summer recharged by boat 65 amp alternator and as soon as we get home from any trip.
