Re: best deflator

I bought the cheapest one I could find. It was on sale for about $6.

Works great at inflating and deflating. I do have to top the tubes up with a hand pump, but this takes no longer than a couple of minutes to do.

There are really nice ones on the market that do have the power to do this all on their own, and some even include a automatic pressure gauge to shut off the pump at the exact amount programed.

They are a little pricey though, running up to, and over a hundred dollars a whack.

Would be nice to have, but for my needs at the moment I am totally happy with the cheapo model.

Check the iboats online store they have several.

Re: best deflator

Thank you Snapping Turtle for your post. Now where can I find info regarding techniques on deflating and folding the boat to make it fit in the bag that came with. I have a Saturn 12' and no manuals came with it. The boat was not in the bag so I'm not sure if it really fits. Anybody have experience with this boats?

I use a medium Big Foot storage bag for my Saturn. Fits perfectly. I threw away the bag that came with it. I use a Bravo 12 BST HP pump, but don't use anything for deflation. http://www.waterstrider.com/raft-air-pumps.htm

ON EDIT: The boatstogo website has extensive inflation and deflation instructions.

Re: best deflator

I have inflatables with boston valves and I also use a Sea-Doo brand inflator/deflator to suck the last remaining air out of it.

However, even when it's completely drained, unless you've got one of those factory machines that folds it nice and neat, I doubt you'll ever get it back in the bag it came with.

Change the bag out for a cheap hockey equipment bag. Should fit is an inexpensive alternative.
