Hey guys,

I am kinda new to boating, just bought a 08 Q4 tahoe with the 3.4 mercruiser in it and I was wondering what do you guys use to treat your engine and gas. What brand and how often do you use it. I heard that you need to use gas some type of engine and gas treatment of every fill up? And do you guys leave your gas tanks full or empty at the end of every season? Thanks so much for your time and help

Stabil all the time, less when you're running the boat real regular, more depending on length of time it'll be sittin'. It'll save you a lot of fuel related problems. Leave your tank full all the time, as much as possible. Have a fuel/water separator type cartridge filter installed back near the motor to catch water and debris Before it gets to your motor!...a great preventive maintenance item for about $50!:)

You can use ethanol without Stabil and the like in regular running.

When storing fuel, it's almost universally recommended that you add a stabilizer to combat some -- not all -- problems that storing fuel might -- only might -- cause.

If you have a hunkerin' for anecdotal evidence, then hang around here for a while.

If you want engine builder advice, drain all fuel when you store your rig. If this isn't practical, fill 'er up 9/10 with fuel and stabilize it for storage.
