Best fish finder for $100 or less???

Hey All,<br /><br />I'm looking to buy my first fish/depth finder. I'm looking for a BASIC fish finder what will show me depth, fish & structure. I want to stay in the $100 range. Does anyone have any suggestions on a brand & model? I will be using it on inland lakes only.<br /><br />How about the Humminbird PIRANHA 1 or the Eagle CUDA 168?<br /><br />Thanks, Craig

Well, I'm not an expert but I can tell you that most people hear will say stay away from Hummingbird. I'm looking for an inexpensive fishfinder myself and I'm leaning toward's the Eagle FishEasy 2.

Garmin 100. Same exact features as the 160, just with a smaller screen.

I bought a cuda earlier this year. It is my first fishfinder. It works good for depth and temp. (what I wanted it for) It seems to mark a lot of fish I don't think are there. The directions say how to "tune out" some of the fish that aren't there. I just never bothered to try.<br /><br />DougV>

I myself have the Fish Easy 2 on my 18ft cc most of my fishing is back bay's salt water fishing,The unit works great I would recommend it I pick it up from bass pro shop on sale for $119.00 .

I have a Hummingbird Pirana 1. I had to tune it so that it would stop giving false fish readings, and I turned the Fish ID off. As depth sounder it works just fine. Marks structure on the bottom, even in thick weeds. I admit that this my first fish finder, and I have only one other one on my dad's boat. It is a Garmin, but I don't see a real difference between them, other than mine doesn't show water temp. I stick my hand in the water for that

Eagle fisheasy part needed

Eagle fisheasy part needed

Does anybody have the cable I'm looking for my 'Eagle Fisheasy'
There are 2, 2pin cables that attach to the back of this unit
I have the 2pin power cord thats attaches to the back of the unit and then the other end attaches to the battery.
However I don't have the cable with the transducer on it that attaches to the unit and then too transom on the back of my boat, the new ones are to expansive I'm looking for one more reasonably priced.

I have the Eagle Cuda 242. seems to work fine, like all finders once you get it tuned in properly it works great. shows depth, structure, water temp.

Garmin 140. Got mine at Wal-Mart for $112.12........ they shipped free to a store near me.
