I'm looking to install a fuel/water separator for my 1973 65 hp Evinrude. I'm thinking about just buying the one from Walmart (Seasense brand I think???). Anyone used these, or any reasons why I should avoid it? My only real concern is getting replacement filters.

racor is rated best. but nothing wrong with Seasense. seasense filters are available online. but at my Walmart, it looks like they are changing there boating supplies to Attwood brand.

Yeah went down there and picked up an Attwood brand kit and got it installed. Looks and works great and the filter has a list of part numbers for other manufacturers of the filter so there shouldn't be a problem finding replacements if I can't find the Attwood brand ones.

Used to be?? They're still a lot of fun :), pretty big event for this area. And yes it is a very pretty area, my family has been in this area for a VERY long time and I can't imagine growing up anywhere else. Love the small town atmosphere even if there is a shortage of boat shops around ;).
