Best hitch for V6 Touareg?

Hi, I recently bought a 2006 V6 Touareg and now pondering over which aftermarket hitch to install.

I will be pulling a 2,600 load (boat+trailer)

I've ruled out the VW-recommended manufacturer hitch as it's a ripoff at $700.
Although, I've read on the touareg enthusiast forum that I should stick with that as the aftermarket hitches aren't made for unibody-construction installations. Any thoughts on this?

Both the curt and the drawtite attach to the factory mounting points, so whoever fed you the line about not being designed for unibodies was likely just repeating the BS that the VW salesperson sold them. Neither one is for use with a weight distributing setup.
The hiddenhitch loos like it bolts under the frame and reaches farther forward to spread the load better. It may be suitable for load equalizing, but there were no capacities listed on the page.

But with any of them, they will be at least as good as the factory unit.
