Hey Gary,
The big lakes like Winni, Winnesquam, Squam, Massebesic and Newfound are way too crowded. Take a look at Bow Lake in Strafford, Northwood Lake, and Pleasant lake in Deerfield. They are all good sized lakes and not as crowded. Pleasant Lake is my favorite, water is crystal clear and hardly anyone but locals ever use it.

The ramp at pleasant is sketchy, and parking is limited. The great thing is that not a lot of people know about it. Going from Northwood, take 107 towards Deerfield, the ramp access road is on the left just after the sharp corner. If you see the lake on your left, you've gone too far.

Where do you live??

Sorry it's taken awhile to get back. Thanks for the info. I'm down in Brookline, we've got or own little secret pond ... Lake Potaniamo, nice, small, but getting a bit crowed( we're to close to MA) but its fun, & 2 miles away. I'll have to check out Pleasent.
Thanks, Gary
