best low-cost tach for checking props?

I have a 1986 40hp yamaha 2 stroke with controls that has a tach output. I only want to check WOT for prop selection. Besides buying a teleflex gauge or a tinytach, are there any portable inexpensive tachs that you guys use for temporary measurement?
